The next IPL auction i.e., the 15th season of the Indian Premier League 2022 IPL Auction is considered to be a magnificent Mega IPL auction in the history of the tournaments. Originally, 8 teams took part in the IPL league, but this year IPL expands their horizon & a total of 10 teams will be participating in IPL 2022.

The board BCCI added two new franchises to the IPL this year, Lucknow and Ahmedabad. The accession for the two new establishments for IPL 2022 was done through an auction wherein, the Sanjeev Goenka- RPSG Group, which had likewise been the proprietor of the Rising Pune Supergiants in IPL 2016 and IPL 2017 franchise, purchased the Lucknow franchise and named it Lucknow Super Giants. The Ahmedabad franchise was bought by a private CVC capital group. This franchise is named Gujrat Titan [GT] in IPL 2022.

IPL 2022 will be the most stupendous event in IPL history, as an aggregate of 10 teams will be part of the reputable franchise T20 league title in the world, over a range of 74 dynamic matches. The BCCI plans to take the competition back to India this year as the most recent few years, IPL has been held in the UAE because of the poor COVID-19 conditions.

In IPL 2022, Each franchise in the IPL gets a purse of INR 90 Crore to assemble the team of domestic and international Indian players and foreign players (capped, uncapped, or the players from associate nations).

In the case of 2 new teams, the BCCI had allowed the 2 new teams to retain 3 players from the list of released players by the 8 old teams. With each of the 2 new teams being allowed to retain a maximum of 2 Indian Players and 1 foreign player.

Also, BCCI has dismissed the Right to Match (RTM card) which could have allowed franchisees to get hold of a few of their old players. No RTM in IPL 2022.
